I've used a tv as a monitor before, but it was tough because it lagged pretty badly (around 80ms from when something "happened" to when the monitor showed it). What is the input lag like on this?

Spec instrumentation solves this perfectly for Clojure and ClojureScript. There's a price to pay, sure. Namely speccing your functions, but specs are defined for the functions in clojure.core.

By 'make' I'd like to point out that on average, workers in tech literally 'make more' (i.e produce more) value for their employers. Which is precisely why compensation is better.

I've stayed at 2 of this guy's (Vic) properties. The first time was in the sunset in SF and it was pretty great. The cops did come bursting into our bedroom at midnight on a weeknight once, but besides that I have fond memories o

Your small dive prompted me to create a simple version of what you were describing [1]. I didn't use my usual editor, and just used the cljsfiddle itself. I really wanted to create a spec for the data in app-state, and check the value

Do you actually believe the public school system's goal is to educate children? More like freeing up parents to go to work (and tax), and employing teachers and administrators. It's nearly impossible to fire teachers, thanks to a

I'd like to add one: let your tools do the work for you. It may seem like a pain to learn the tooling behind what you do, but once you internalize it, it becomes a superpower. An example is that I use Clojure Refactor Mode (with CIDER)

I'm also a huge prelude fan. Very easy to get helm, projectile, and cider working. I've used spacemacs (love the theme), emacs live (love the theme), Steve Purecell's emacs config, emacs starter kit, and others. I settled on

I ctrl+f'd for org-reveal, and didn't find it so I'll give it a plug. I write org-mode files (kind of like a richer version of markdown), and use org-reveal and emacs' publishing system turn them into slide shows like [1

Incedentally I also use Emacs for editing lisp. (emacs lisp and Clojure.) Learning the hotkeys/concepts behind structural editing of lisp code was life changing metamorphasis, but quite difficult overall. There's been some fantast

I agree it's hard to write lisp without a proper editor. Having seen the light I just can't go back now. The power, ease, and simplicity are not something I've experienced with non lisps.
