It's not so strange that we get fewer "smaller open-minded business(es)" though, considering the increasing regulatory burden. Of course, they are maintainable - but they do consume a lot of resources to tick them all off. Mo

I know it's not an too popular opinion here on HackerNews and I'd say you're sort of right, but you got it in reverse. The problem is not that it's hard to control or tax companies, the problem is that it's not as e

As a Swede, I beg to differ. Both the two bullet points apply to other countries as well, such as Sweden. It's just that it hits you indirectly through taxes, instead of directly by you having to fork out bills from your wallet. It

Shouldn't you report actual crimes? What kind of society do we get when everyone seemingly secretly or publicly hates each other so much that you'll report "potential crimes" in advance?

I'll take you up on that offer - I'm interested! If you have any pointers on English language material (books, news articles) regarding the subject, that'd be interesting as well!

I think the Original Poster that you're responding to mean presence literally, as the word is usually used. As in "Does Amazon have any facilities/staff etc in Austria?".

If you want people to voluntarily follow the law, you must have laws that everyone respects. In other words they have to be reasonable for the subjects of the law. You always have a choice to either follow the law or not to follow the law.
