This made me smile, maybe the future isn't so grim. I hope this doesn't end with an undue amount of fallout for sama such that he's discouraged from doing something like this again should the situation require.

The comments have made me reconsider my question. I also saw the article about a YC basic income experiment. Have you considered structuring the experiment in terms of creating a intentional basic income community? An example fitting my boh

Hey Sam, where do I apply for YC basic income? : ) Many people have no problems in life except those related to not having enough dough. I know a number of really creative/talented individuals who would be a lot better off if they didn

Designing and printing a 3D object is fundamentally much more complex than typing out an essay and hitting print. There's always going to be a big learning curve for someone trying to get into 3D printing/modelling for the first t

I'm not sure if you meant to convey a judgement relative quality. I think that the this video is more impressive than 8 floppy drives. I never thought a single printer would be capable of that tonal quality and that range of polyphonic

I haven't actually used your software, I was only going off of the fact that you're in a browser, by virtue of which I could be reasonably confident in what I said in my post. I'd love to try a demo. I'm not calling into

Yeah but Maya is you know, production quality software. There's a reason people use $4000+ software suites. I'm sure Clara is lovely for people trying to whet their appetite for 3D modelling but it's unfair to present it as e

I think that's probably a good distinction/system. I grew up in the Czech Republic and I was allowed access to knives at age 3 or so. Sometimes I cut myself. My grandpa would just tell me "Nešikovne maso musí prič." whic

I once spent ~2 hours explaining all of this (well maybe not all of it) to a friend of mine who was studying sound design at the time. He didn't believe me. I even transcoded some 24/192 FLAC Pink Floyd I had lying around and made

The parts used to build this total $330 vs. the $70 for the LEAP and it seems that this is less accurate and responsive. I'd get behind this if it was purely an open source effort to bring this to people who can't get their hands on a LEAP.
