How far do you have to drive to go to a supermarket from that development? To a library? (Silly me, expecting people to go to a library in 2024, right?) If Dallas or Houston or Austin had decent mass transit out to those areas that'

You don't have to be "profound" to make a substantial comment. But as it is, you're being really unpleasant about something that ultimately doesn't matter enough to merit it. (And I don't even like ligatures in

I think there's a lot of good ideas in the Podcasting 2.0 set of specs, but the insistence on stapling crypto shit into it (even for quote-unquote good reasons) has meant that I've got no interest in recommending it as a thing. Th

Funny - I’m right-handed, but my left hand also works most of the keyboard. I think it’s more because the modifier keys on the right are more natural for me to hit. On thumb keyboards, it’s pretty similar too. My left thumb types as far to

To move directionally in the way you describe, you probably have to make the user experience of running scripts of any kind much weirder . macOS does this to some extent by prompting via GUI if something tries to access data directories on

The highway under Boston has turned out to be one of the better solutions that the area could've had, I think. It doesn't mean that the highway that goes around (I-95) is unused, or even underused, but I-93/the former Centr

Yeah, what you describe is not a remotely hot take. The technical advantage, such as it was, for the Spanish invaders was armor more than guns (though that was also subject to being unsuited for climate, etc.).

They didn't. The Spanish invaders allied with locals, to the point where some of those locals' descendants had special--though not equal--status into the colonial era as the indios nobles .

At my current job I work with several people who have one to three years of experience repeated over the span of twenty. It might be less likely than some parts of HN would like it to be.

The Mac Pro does have a rackmount, but that's mostly a box for PCIe devices. If you just want Mac compute and storage, it's not nearly as suitable, and the pricing/unit economics are a mess.
