That doesn't actually work , though. Old links don't update or forward to matching instances of your toots on Mastodon. They're isolated. It's a bad experience.

Not sure anybody wants to be training AI models on the outputs of his Twitter Blue posse.

It's not being "rejected entirely". That is mendacious editorializing. Generative AI products are being rejected unless you affirm that you have rights to the entirety of the training data set . What's wrong with that

Can you explain to me how "you must affirmatively state that you own or have licensed rights to the training data (and if you're lying, the legal responsibility is yours and not Valve's)" is not a clear rule? And yeah, t

This claim doesn't make sense. Every store I've seen in the last five years includes nominal sizing of their dimensional lumber (which, for a 2x4, is generally a quarter off on every side, not an eighth)--and if you are buying dim

I think it depends on what you want whether poplar or pine are better, tbh. Poplar's very stable, it's great if you want to paint it, and it does take some machining (chiefly routing) a little nicer, but I personally really like t

I don't know about "treasured", but pine is nice! The main thing is that it's soft . Furniture made from pine will dent if you look at it. My coffee table is something I made early on when I was learning and it's m

What species, what country? Because absolutely no softwood in North America does this. You can run Deckmates into the oldest pine you want all day. (And hardness has little to do with the strength or survivability of a constructed building.

Most firs and pines tend to be around the same density (around 25-28 lb/ft^3). Wood isn't magic and no common softwood is particularly moisture resistant. It's more likely that the envelope of the house was built better than

I'm pretty sure, in the USA at least, whitewood is just ungraded hem-fir and SPF, not poplar. There's a joke that an ungraded bolt is guaranteed to catch a magnet and sink to the bottom of a bathtub. "Whitewood" is that,

Your experience is certainly possible, but it's also localized. It also depends on what you bought. Both big-box stores in my area have two different kinds of 2x4s. Both have "whitewood studs" and both carry a flavor of hem-f

Of course it matters . But that doesn't mean (very moderately) less dense softwoods are not fit for purpose. In home construction, you're either loading softwoods in compression along the grain or you're using thick materi

This is a response that, if made not in jest, is a signal of mendacity. Submersibles visited the Challenger Deep in the 1960s. We know how to build them, we know how to build them effectively, and we know many of the ways not to build the
