What the fed do will matter little this time, I think. This crisis have been managed very badly by most Western countries, and the markets have started to price that in. I think we're 1/4-1/6 of the way down before this botto

Thing is you can now have many of the benefits of TS without using it in your own code. Most popular libraries come with type definitions now and an editor like VS Code will take advantage of this and give you the same autocompletions TS wo

If your reading list consists mostly of self-improvement books I don't think you're missing out, and I think you're wise to continue getting summaries of that content online. Books in that genre are typically filled with irre

I'm curious about this too. Dart has an interesting runtime since it supports both quick JIT compilation and AOT to machine code.

I'm not so sure. I don't see it being used on the server side a whole lot, it seems to be more or less synonymous with Android dev -- and Dart/Flutter is taking big chunks of that space now and growing rapidly.

Since Svelte is a compiler I was thinking they could wrap the exported variables in an observable of some sort and make any method call on the reference variable trigger a value update behind the scenes. I have now idea how costly/comp

Svelte seems promising. I think it's a natural evolution from what I think is an over focus on FP and purity in React, to a more natural and intuitive DX without significant drawbacks. Svelte does have an irritating wart IMO, citing th

TS is definitely oversold. I like the typed function signatures, a little bit better autocompletion and some refactor support. Personally I also think typing can be fun. But it doesn't increase safety or productivity, and it comes with

I don't think the majority of end users care much. They have gotten used to web apps more than anything, a unified web-like UI across platforms might even been seen as a positive by them.

What are people's impression of Dart as a language, compared to e.g. Typescript? Reviews so far seems lackluster. Does Dart have anything that sets it apart from JS, like immutable data structures out of the box? How's the support
