I used to take the trails by the bay from the Googleplex to North San Jose - most is unpaved gravel, and then you pass by a smelly waste treatment plant and get on some paved trails. Even on a hybrid, it was not the most pleasant cycling. T

I tried this[0] and successfully round-robin packets in a single stream. Problem was that the two links had different latencies and Linux has no tolerance for out of order packets. Instead, it would cause a huge number of retransmissions. [

Under this tentative scheme, if you want to point example.com to exampleapp.herokuapp.com then you'd need to be on the $7/month tier. I don't know why you'd want to point your domain to an app that's only up half th

Very interesting and encouraging to see a public transit service in YC. Article says that you all don't have prior experience in transit. Are you learning from your early adopters as you go? How much and how often do agencies re-plan t

Really, any language that has threading gives you the easy concurrency that you want. Now, if you limit your choices to "concurrency, but not with OS threads", then your pool is a lot smaller. I think Clojure (core.async), Haskell

It's a tough debate. On one hand, bolts are not very visible and no wildlife is going to try to eat and choke on a bolt. On the other hand, it's permanently altering the rock, and bolts don't have an infinite lifespan. There

The rating scale has also shifted. A difficult route may have been graded a 5.10 when it was established, simply because that was the limit of the scale. But if it were regraded today it might have a more precise grade like 5.12b.

I don't know what the creators' intentions were regarding the favicon. It is, however, the katakana "chi" (チ), which corresponds to the name "Chicory". Seems bizarre, but that's the connection I saw.
