I have a production app that generates about 500MB of data per day. A small amount of that data needs to be kept hot in cache -- but the rest is accessed infrequently by comparison (but still in a manner that is aided by SQL). No problems

The email sent to existing customers mentions price drops for certain plans (text below). With the few plans I glanced at for 2.0, it doesn't look so much like a price drop as it does a storage capacity and max connections drop. Produ

Does anyone know if New Relic can be used in a more limited capacity with unsupported languages? I've been building an OpenResty/Lapis app (Lua) and would love to be able to get some visibility into my Heroku dynos.

Even without TouchID, iirc on previous iPhone models entering an invalid password 10 times would trigger a wipe. So not a new threat -- just balancing maintaining the confidentiality of your data with the DOS risk.

Interesting. I've always had much better quality using Twilio to bridge to PSTN than through Twilio Client. I keep coming back to Twilio Client because the idea of a softphone (and a web based one at that) is so alluring compared to h

Will you post links to some of these packages? I'm building up my Emacs Python toolkit after many years of being a Vim user (with liberal use of Evil mode of course! :-)

I've been using CloudFlare on a project and have been mostly very pleased with it. The only persistant problem that I haven't been able to iron out is that some non-US users of my application can't get any of our javascript assets to load i

At least for me, macros don't work in Bash vi-mode. Perhaps it is only implemented in emacs-mode? Or maybe it is the readline version I have in OSX.

As a Vim user, I've always been drawn toward using vi keybindings in bash. However, as a Mac user, all of the Cocoa text widgets more or less support emacs keybindings, so having a working knowledge of basic emacs movement commands has been

I've been a big FreeMind fan for years. Durring my wife's first year of law school, I persuaded her to try using it for one of her classes. She proceeded to quickly adopt it for all of her classes. Having a mindmap of an area of the law

My understanding is that drones are preferred for long term/constant monitoring. Spy satellites are not placed in geostationary orbit, so they only have a few minutes of exposure per day to a place of interest as they fly over. The Global

I like to symlink to MacVim like so: /usr/local/bin/vim -> /usr/local/bin/mvim /usr/local/bin/vimdiff -> /usr/local/bin/mvim Then put /usr/local/bin higher up in my $PATH. Works like a charm.

I've been learning emacs and hunting for the same thing. Aside from Viper mode, these two manual pages are the best I've found: http://www.gnu.org/s/libtool/manual/emacs/Expressions.html http://www.gnu.org/software/libtool/manual/emacs/
