Yeah but it is written indirectly, and the only reason why it's clear to you is because you are probably trained (willingly or not) to interpret such announcements. Between my quote "hi guys, we've been bought" and this

I agree, a lot of software NOT written in Go also has this problem. I don't know how it is in C world, but in many programming languages wriitng good activity reporting (i.e. logging) is considered a core skill of each program. It is s

Networking is a topic where you really need debugging functionality. That's why it hits you the hardest there. Same experience here. It's terrible. But the underlying problem is that there's basically no debugging functionali

The enterprisiest announcement I've read in a long time. And I work at a big corp. Wouldn't be surprised if many people who read this actually don't even understand that it basically says "hi guys, we got bought." I

Can you define standard of living in non-monetary terms?Probably not. Yes, capitalism raises the monetary value of individuals the most. But if that again is a quality of life is discussable. Since we are not living in feudalism, you wouldn

Interesting idea, but reality looks different. Everything underneath the PaaS layer becomes less and less important. With container engines it may be hard to see for most people yet, I have to admit that. But with OS and hardware you can se

I'm a little disappointed that this article makes such a big claim but actually states in the last map that all land is discovered. First of all I don't think it's true. At least some spots will be visited so infrequently or

Morality. The funny thing about it is it needs to be there so you can follow it. For instance without a definition of property and theft you can't steal something and therefore it wouldn't be immoral. If nobody owns the car it doe

(I like the discusssion about morality as well, but can't fit it into the discussion about the best system. Therefore it follows in a second comment.) It's really hard to argue that way for me. How do you set the limit between the

Kubernetes currently has a lot of traction in Enterprise world. Even the CEOs of the big corps currently know what Kubernetes is. That's why you need to support it in some way if you want to continue to compete. At least for the time b

Surpressing egos usually means one has found a joker to beat the other in the fight for leadership. I don't think that battle is over yet, though. It's a very strong move Docker does here, but at the same time k8s is considering c

Who replaces the people in charge? Who takes care of the people in charge not getting corrupt themselves? Who takes care that the most logical action for a leader is not a corrupt one? It's simply not possible. And look through history

You can apply policy top-down. But actually the higher one rises the ranks the more it is about pure, immoral power play. This again leads to the best psychopaths being at the top, which again means policy won't exclude their main meth

This is the dark side of capitalism. It won't go away. You discover 1000 people, they maybe even lose everything. 2 years later there will be another 1000 people.
