Going to 9th grade. Didn't know of Paypal, Excite, or even eBay. Yahoo is the only pre-bubble company I know. Hotmail was not a startup to me, it was a product of Microsoft.

but he's saying, in order to get rich very likely you will need to do those things other people dare not to do, i.e. doing these things raise your chance of getting rich, which is true.

Yep, especially for techies in america, they already have the right skills and conditions to feed themselves and families, then getting out of bed at 5am just to make some more sounds absurd. Not so much if your purpose is change the world,

get enough sleep, a while ago i went to a google interview after an all-nighter. it felt like 100-hour long. read more about data structures and algorithms, and make you can explain it in laymen terms.

I'm not sure how Kiko compared to the first 5~10 big failures that burnt 100mil + dollars. Kiko is a well-justified experiment on couple hundred grands.

agree except the sports part. most of the discussion are of low quality and can be done with a smarter audience on HN or some other newsgroups. But sports teams are good. it really encourages self-discipline, work ethics, and a competitive

(1) If I really got sued we're be fairly big. I mean companies would only sue me if I have money to pay. Viacom wouldn't sue Youtube if Youtube wasn't acquired by Google. Who doesn't want to be Youtube? =) (2) I haven't paid much attention

Currently there're no ads on the site =) We think it's more important to attract users/content before we put on any ads or other revenue stream.

We're focusing on more general, soft issues such as the boss, coworkers, training, etc. On that respect we're more focused on glassdoor.com than coderific.com. Meanwhile now we're focusing just on the tech industry. Later down the road we'r

Lots of the entrepreneurs we know are from these schools, and that's evidence to prove against the article's theory. I think it really depends on the personality and background of the person. People who stand out in the top schools are real
