Honestly it provides a huge amount of the base load in Ontario (~60%) and for most intents and purposes is clean. Debatable if we'd be able to get new reactors built today but I'm glad it exists

I used to work for one of the largest independent power producers in Canada. Even in 2014, they were divesting from fossil fuel based generation and pouring everything into renewables. Great ideal, but it takes time! Small plug for https:&
