There was a recent freakonomics podcast [1] from which I learned that greenhouse gas emissions mostly come from cattle breathing, not their manure (I guess the manure imagery that often goes along with describing livestock environmental imp

As a mindfulness-building experiment, I'll occasionally try writing down everything I do on a given day (before I do it). Even small things, like reading an article on hacker news, or responding to a text. It's kind of the invers

Math is different in that one feels there should be something close to "absolute truth." That is, given a set of axioms, it is possible to verify with complete certainty whether a proof follows from those axioms or not. Though whe

I feel like I retain information more easily when listening to audio on 2x. Listening to audio is significantly slower than reading, and often by the time the speakers get to describing the results, a lot of time has passed from when they d

This article sounds unnecessarily biased. All art has stylistic and thematic influences. Nothing in Van Gogh's experimentation with or usage of Japanese elements looks egregious to me.

I see. It seems like training a model for a hero with only targeted spells would be much faster than training a model for a hero which can cast spells at arbitrary map locations. I don't play DoTA, so not sure how many such heroes exis
