I freaked out at first. I couldn't believe that they were criticizing developers for poor grammar. As I read on, I realized that they make a living on the written word and it all made sense.

Do you know if CTRL and ALT work on bluetooth keyboards? My perfect IDE is only a SSH session away but I've heard that CTRL and ALT are not supported in Android and without those EMACS is pretty useless.

I've been using my Kindle Fire with ICS on it nearly every day. It's a really nice size for reading and browsing. I'm sure it is a personal preference. Some people prefer 10" and some people prefer 7".

Wow, HN is harsh. This is probably a really solid product that solves a specific problem and you all nit-pick at it's trade-offs and poo-poo it.

I can implement the server. Is there anything I should know about tuning Twisted for this kind of benchmark?

Excellent. I wanted to write a twisted implementation. care to take a crack at it and submitting a pull request?

Feel free to fix the go version and submit a pull request. My implementation is just copy pasta from the net.

I used the m1.medium instance on 64bit Ubuntu 12.04. I will update the results.md to note that. I will also rerun all the tests on 2 core 64bit instances tonight.

This initial release is not meant to be definitive. I welcome pull requests for better implementations in your language/platform of choice and any suggestion to better tune Linux for these tests.

Am I wrong to feel disappointed when boxes like these are more than $200?

Think of it as WINE project for iOS. He's building the libraries that iOS code depends on just like WINE recreated all the Windows DLLs so that Windows programs could run on Linux/OSX

In my experience, a single node web socket server has trouble with 5,000 concurrent connections nonetheless 100,000 connections.

gunicorn is nice for starting up a quick WSGI webserver. I prefer uwsgi when integrating with nginx. uwsgi's performance is pretty incredible.

What didn't you like about it? I remember hating the syntax when I first start but forgot why. After I worked through the initial aversion, the syntax no longer feels worse than say, Python, it is just different. In fact, I wouldn't give

With web services, documents are your public API. Once a service is public, there is a contract between you and the consumers of the API that it will not change until a new version comes out. This is why we see the /v1/ convention in REST
