I think you are right that it is a small number of people committing these low level crimes repeatedly and they are causing huge amounts of unrest and unhappiness. In the Bay Area I bet arresting ~100 individuals would send the number of ca

Everyone knows how environmentally friendly shipping everything 8000 miles is. Climate policy just makes stuff nicer for people who live in rich countries because the pollution is further away from their personal bubble.

That makes sense, LLM training data probably has tons of common problems in it, but maybe only a few or no instances of really niche, difficult ones. So it just comes up with a bunch of garbage. My experience has been similar, it is amazing

If you work on a team of suitable size I would hesitate to not leverage a VDom. I trust myself to not trigger dumb reflows, but the way I see a lot of people using React this could be a perf nightmare.

I legitimately cant tell who you are referring too, politics is so muddled now that both sides believe wholeheartedly that their side is the one with the correct plan to fix the economy.

So tech lets one person do the work of many, what is your endgame here as more and more people become “deadweight”? I don’t totally disagree with you but if our stance towards workers is “figure out how to create value or get left behind” w

This could be a really cool use for AI. We have so many rules and systems in place to protect normal people from professionals that we have to blindly trust. If I had a reliable AI in my pocket I could be in charge of my own safety again. I

Betting against the market just hasn’t worked since 2008. Outside of the first two months of the pandemic it has steadily climbed regardless of a “recession” coming every year. I don’t think the economy is healthy, I don’t think what we are

Customer service jobs are great because you feel useful and you never wake up stressed wondering if you will be able to do your work well that day. I did 5 years at Trader Joe’s, would easily do it for 30 if they paid 150k lol.
