Isn't the global population like 50% obese? What is your actual risk of dying from it if you are relatively in shape and in your 40s?

Seriously there is too much shit to worry about to micro manage each facet, unless your like a Bryan Johnson billionaire with a staff. Beyond just heart disease & cancer taking you out entirely its: my eyesight is going, my hearing, eve

Seriously I feel like it's self-sabotage sometimes at work. Just fixing the thing getting tests to pass isn't enough. Until I fully have a mental model of what is happening I can't move on.

I will schedule review time with coworkers I trust to go over it with them. It is about ownership to me. I own my PRs. If I throw garbage out and expect you to fix it I am making you own my PRs. No one wants to be forced to own other people

It is a huge problem. PR reviews are a big deal, not just for code reasons, but they are one of the best teaching tools for new hires. Good ones take time and mental energy. Asking me to review a shitty PR that you don't understand is

It doesn't even need to be a long call, just a one off "hey this is a big PR, got a sec to run me through it" works. Usually within a few questions the answer "the AI wrote it that way" will come out. Which feels ba

Will it be another "correction" where it pulls back ~10% before going up another 15%? The powers that be have too much invested in the market continuing to move up, you are basically betting that Trump, a bunch of billionaires and

Yeah I feel like 200m of PLTR put options would distort the market so much the contracts would struggle to overcome their own premium. They must be referring the the value of the shares the contracts represent?

Can't you run small LLMs on like... a Macbook air M1? Some models are under 1B weights, they will be almost useless but I imagine you could run them on anything from the last 10 years. But yeah if you wanna run 600B+ weights models you

How would recommend doing it? If I was just trying to pull <a/> tag links out I feel like treating it like text and using regex would be way more efficient than a full on HTML parser like JSDom or something.

Once again we have to legislate basic courtesy due to a tiny minority of the population being unable to function around others. It sucks that 90% of our rules are made to control < 3% of the population.

Yeah but... running an LLM is braindead simple now with Ollama, someone with a little bit of knowledge could run their own or spin up an LLM backed service for others to use. It isn't like Google search where the moat is impossibly hug

Isn't the order of JSON keys not guaranteed by the official spec? I don't remember when I learned that but I have always behaved as if that cannot be relied upon.

compounding gains has also become the only strategy to stay afloat. Look at the performance of broad index funds since 2008. You either dumped everything you had in the market over the last 15 years or literally lost out on 4Xing your money

Isn't this saying business layer should not be on the top? Business layers should be accessible via an explicit interface/shape that is agnostic to the layers above it. So if the org decides to move from mailchimp to some other em

Famously how Doom was written and maybe part of why it was ported to so many platforms. Hex is kind of a PITA for ground up projects, but if you are doing something where you know multi-platform/cloud/device whatever is important

It isn't even a perverted implementation, we just overestimated ourselves. All our sci-fi futurism of the 70s/80s showed enlightened humans elevating themselves with technology. In real Star Trek the holo deck would be used for p

Yeah that sounds like a CI/CD task or scheduled job. I would not want the AI to "rewrite" the scripts before running them. I can't really think of why I would want it to?

Many people want that though? I just want shit to work, and most modern devs function many levels above the OS most of the time. Stuff I write is gonna run in a browser, a phone or a containerized cloud env. I don’t care about how configura
