Nitpick: Safe Rust [_does_][0] let you construct null pointers -- it's _dereferencing_ them that's not allowed in safe Rust. [0]: https://play.rust-lang.org/?version=stable&mode=debug&editio...

I'm a very happy user of the free tier of Descript right now, and will definitely pay once my transcription limit is reached. It seems like this particular product might do a better job of the automated editing specifically, but Descri

Does this already use `target-cpu=native`? Not sure if that would be apples-to-apples with the Zig implementation (which is what's important here), but I'd be surprised if it didn't yield some interesting wins.

Honest question: is that fundamentally any different than building skills by imitating StackOverflow solutions or studying principles and patterns to build knowledge? I would view those as respective software development analogues, though t

Has anybody used SimulDocs[0], which sells itself as a "version control for Microsoft Word documents"? I've been really curious if it's a decent solution in this space, but I tend to keep myself away from Word docs in my

You're right, I didn't distinguish between overall compile times and the front-end time taken, which is what you were focusing on. For the Rust toolchain, the (vast IIRC) majority of compilation time is in LLVM's backend. So,

It's important to note that run-time tradeoffs were made in the interest of fast compilation speed. When it comes to optimizing code emitted from D source, it's important to leverage the alternate implementations from GCC or the L

You can have the money and still decide that you can beat the interest from mortgage with another investment, i.e., stocks. So, that's not necessarily indicative of a financial standing. :)

This is a good question. Also important to remember is that for many Linux distributions dynamically linked OpenSSL artifacts are what end up getting used by the vast majority of binaries.

Two things about that in reply to your comment: 1. Right now Firefox Monitor uses your Firefox account for signups. For somebody like me who already has a Firefox account, I don't see a net difference in risk here. 2. If you don't

In the meantime, have you checked out MSYS2? It's the best option I've found for a *nix toolchain until WSL2 arrives. :)

GraphViz in the browser was made possible by `emscripten`, which is essentially a JavaScript compiler target. In that sense, there's not a implementation in a language besides C++ that's gotten much traction.

AFAIK, the Libz Blitz was a totally separate program as part of the overall execution for the 2017 plan, much like the `impl period` itself.

I've done some research, as I have the same interest. I know that `neovim` allows clicks on non-tab elements -- I think something akin to `vim-wintabs` and `neovim` might get what you want.
