Sure. You can draw conclusions about what will be a good design, or where a problem is occurring, or what you should optimize from doing "the math." The simplest example is probably using a Big O approach to view how to walk a lar

Let's say there's "slowness" on a route in a Rails app. A really junior engineer might start blindly optimizing. A mid-skill engineer might start by trying to diagnose the problem, and usually will get somewhere, but oc

Cool, thanks! I'll be keeping an eye on it. I thought Sikuli had some real potential for this that seemed unrealized. Good luck!

Post a link to the repo so people can give it a star or follow it?

1. Yes, just API/SPA 2. Yes 3. Yes The decision is purely pragmatic, not about taste, purity, or anything else. If I can develop faster up to the point where I have the budget to worry about those other concerns, that would be a win.

You're not wrong about the size of the dev team and turnover. At the same time, I'm not sure if taking 2 months to get productive is a win? Wasn't one of the angular "upgrades" a total rewrite? What is the overhead

Totally agree you don't need jQuery. My criteria for inclusion was "does it make our development even slightly faster, on balance." The answer was yes in this case. Perhaps that's just the familiarity of it, but at the

Unfortunately, choice 2 sounds like us. I was looking for some way to short-circuit that (by maybe shipping the repo already loaded) as the product runs in the customer's cloud, and the images are built on their machines.

Anyone know how to get smaller docker images? I thought if I had all the previous layers in the docker registry that an upload would just be the size of the diff of the new layer, but this seems to never work.

You could argue the market decided it was the store of value to use, like gold, not the coin to use. Or it is still being pumped by bitfinex/tether, tough to tell.

Bitcoin isn't a currency that can fix this. Bitcoin is either censorable (lightning network) or unaffordable when used heavily with slow confirmations and ridiculous fees. The lightning network is a joke--a frankenstein "Engineeri
