If you never want Touch ID to work, you can just replace the home button in the phone. It's a security feature from Apple--a new home button will never work with Touch ID again. It's not too difficult to swap a home button yoursel

The articles and comments indicate that his posting of schematics appears to be the concern, not his ranting about Apple or his repairing of said devices. As a repair shop owner, this is some serious BS. After watching several hours of vide

As a buyer, I could still win a claim against you for bad shipping, though. We run two repair shops where we buy a LOT of parts on eBay, and the way some people ship things is atrocious. We've received laptop keyboards with keys hangin

I flew out of the Austin airport 2 weeks ago, and used Wingz to get a driver to drive us there. He gave me his cell # and I just texted him for the ride back home when we got back last week, and paid cash. Super easy. I think it's pret

Oh, me neither. But today there are plenty of companies in the smart thermostat game. A quick Amazon search shows 8 at a glance, only one of which is a Nest.

The article says Nest may be up for sale, which would make sense. I have to think that the buyer would probably buy Nest for the underlying technology and not the brand at this point, however. I have an original Nest thermostat but would ne

It's not that simple when it's a business calling, though. Easy example: I run a repair shop. If you drop off a computer or game console, we ask for your phone number and call you when it's done. We get a LOT of people who do

As far as I can tell, this doesn't include SSDs. Spinning drive shipments are down -- I say GOOD RIDDANCE! I run a repair shop, and one of the top computer repairs we do is to upgrade a spinning disk to a SSD. A 240GB SSD runs $60-$65

iPad Air 1 is $120 to fix; newer ones are $260. The reason for the jump is that Apple moved to bonded technology (backlight, LCD, digitizer, glass is all one piece bonded from the factory) in the newer iPad Airs, so the parts are more expen
