Look into how Traffic Travis does this: http://www.traffictravis.com/ They built an email list of hundreds of thousands of people who downloaded free software. The list is a more valuable asset to them than anything else.

Yeah, until your time is so valuable that you'd rather pay your assistant and/or a copywriter to help you with it. That's where I am with my company right now. Even with my copywriting background, my time is valuable enough that I need to h

Just to add some clout to this one, I'm doing consulting for WP Engine and @patio11 was here for a week in January. Jason, the CEO, is an amazing person to learn from, as he's already had one successful exit, and he builds a team that's the

Love the concept but hate the name. "iDoneThis" isn't even proper grammar... This is a case where a few hundred dollars on a good domain name would go a long way.

FWIW, Hipchat's pricing is $2/month/user (so $16 for our 8 people), and Grove's is $25/month for up to 10 people. Not sure where you're getting $50. And yeah, for what we need, it'd take a lot more than an hour to set up. Not to mention exp

Your analysis of dedicated servers is somewhat dated. For instance, most higher-end dedicated servers these days come with IPMI. You can use it as a KVM in case you muck something up. It has its own IP address (on a different subnet) and br

IANAL-Is it possible to set up a class-action lawsuit on this? We, Verizon customers, entered into a 2-year contract agreement. Now, in the middle of that contract, they are changing the agreement. At the least, shouldn't they be forced to

Try a Galaxy Nexus. You can easily unlock the bootloader on it and root it. And it doesn't come with all the junk that the other manufacturers install. Ice Cream Sandwich is amazing, too. The phone is really designed and built for geeks lik

I'm really hoping you can get the remaining 3.6.x users to force-upgrade. We still have a couple people using 3.6 on our web app (where some pages won't render properly--we've labeled this 'wontfix' in our system since Firefox 7.0+ renders
