It's more than that; there's a lot of tooling and documentation around Elixir that either doesn't exist in Erlang or appears to exist only via tribal knowledge ("Well, of course everyone knows you need to {X} to {Y}, w

I cannot for the life of me remember the context, but I remember reading about skills that can't be taught; only learned; chicken-sexing was one of these.

Thanks, that was the sort of article I was hoping for. I am surprised to see Denver winning best transit in America, though; it still takes me 2-3x the time to travel light rail or bus than driving. Sometimes the convenience is worth it, bu

I haven't seen this actually happen, though. In Denver, at least, RTD has been expanding routes and light rail service (albeit slowly, but that is most definitely NOT Uber's fault), even as Uber, Lyft, etc. have become more popula

Way back in the day HP had just transitioned its HP-UX C++ compiler from its older, Cfront-based, C++ compiler to a native solution. I found (in released code, no less!) some fairly trivial template compositions (I forget exactly, but it wa

I think the important distinction-- and the reason that I never got very far in Forth myself-- is that with Forth, you don't have the pile of tools and raw materials, but instead a forge and some ingots of various metals. You really do

Well, I'm wrong. There are ~430 WF locations worldwide; there are 1,600 Aldis in the US. it's just that aside from southern California, they don't seem to have a lot of locations in the West. My closest Aldi is ~550 miles awa

Definitely not! In fact, I use UUIDs everywhere else but the event store. I was just pointing out one case where having an int (well, bigint) primary key is actively useful, and UUIDs aren't. (edit: spelling)
