Ha, and apple just removed the 3.5mm jack from their phones. Perhaps the entire reason for it was to get CarPlay into more cars :P

Certainly, but cars are also mandated to have a weight sensor in the passenger seat to disable the passenger side airbag when there isn't an adult sitting there (so they don't kill children in car seats). Can't we at least co

Fascinating. I work at a large WeWork (hundreds of people, ~9 floors of a 12 story building in manhattan). I wonder if I'm silently benefitting from WSJ subscribers who work out of there causing our ips to be whitelisted for uncookied,

I'm more and more convinced that a UBI is the only way to deal with this problem, so the unemployed have a buffer to retrain to a new skillset. Of course, replacing the current social safety net (food stamps, et. al.) with a UBI would

Haha, certainly nothing so scientific. The picture just looks good to me, and compared with other TVs that I saw on display it was better than a number of the other options that were both cheaper and more expensive.

Yeah, I was pretty miffed that my brand new $2k TV was showing me ads. Fortunately I didn't actually want a "Smart" TV, so I was content just turning that feature off.

Been using opsworks for about a year now and while it has very significantly streamlined our provisioning/deployment tasks, "nothing but love" is not quite how I'd describe it. It does have some warts.

I bought a Samsung 4k TV ~1 year ago, and turning off the Smart TV features (smart hub, or whatever they called it) most definitely turned off the ads. I'm not actually getting 4k video out of my TV, (since neither the apple tv or play

What's amusing about that whole neighborhood is that it really is a tourist destination and as such is the only part of New York that many tourists see. It is very much unlike the rest of the city and yet, that is the impression that t
