That’s a dangerous mindset unless you’re actively pulling the check engine codes daily or more frequently. That one light represents many possible codes, and in all cars I’ve seen it’s on or off instead of, say, on and brighter.

Don’t write your future self off so easily. Now you know first hand how deeply and broadly you can learn a system. If life put you into a completely different system, you could build this familiarity and mental map faster. I bet you could—

I use a MacBook Pro 16” for work and have to have Sophos and Jamf installed. I’m operating at 60-80% of the performance I had before those became policy. Don’t underestimate what corporate IT can do to any machine.

That depends on how you look at it. In the case of this thread, is it better for the environment that PGE continues using 100 year old electricity towers and saves the resources (metals, fuel, labor) necessary to replace them? Or is it bett

I just took some time to try this and it didn’t work. I think the Touch Bar acts as another device and UI prompts get forwarded to them. Thank you for the suggestion though.

That’s what I have enabled. That setting behaves differently between Touch Bar and non Touch Bar macs. On non Touch Bar Macs, you can hit space or enter to interact with a pop up dialog. On Touch Bar Macs, the tab key skips over certain UI

If you build a controller for a single nuclear reactor, a bang-bang controller is indeed pretty simple once you know how to build an SR latch. Scaling that to multiple reactors becomes complex because you can no longer control reactors inde

The patches between 0.18 and 1.0 added some very ergonomic blueprint placement in map mode. You can place blueprints directly on the map, and design them in a way so that they snap to a grid. Nilaus did a video recently on city block archi

Reactors don’t top out in efficiency at 4. I went from a 2x2 to a 2x7. My 2x4 power plant was buffered and would create flow problems when half of my buffers drained before the other half. When I scaled to 2x7, I dropped all but one tank to
