Polymer will not require you to use TS - it just provides you with a way to use it if you want.

Well you can do `polymer-redux`, `polymer-uniflow` or mixins ( https://www.captaincodeman.com/2017/07/06/managing-state-in-... ). I went with redux. You could I guess technically you could implement $broadcast

When you will end up with monopoly it will become a problem. No one says chrome should be regulated, but for one I would like developers to test their applications in other browsers, at least Firefox and Edge.

You have to write proper configs for php-fpm, configure apache if you use that etc. All of this takes time, its very easy to deploy php app, but configuring server to sandbox it properly takes time and should be accounted for.

> PHP is still slightly better in terms of speed of deployment When it comes to securing the deployment I think Python/Ruby would be better though - if you factor that in I would say it would be faster for me to deploy a python app

People use it with Polymer (a lot of people in the community use it with polymer-redux package) and Vue. React alternatives that you mentioned are also a thing.

It is interesting how people have the idea that react === Redux/flux. Where in fact Redux is unopinionated and works with other libraries/frameworks just fine.

Actually it seems that Google uses both Angular 1.x, 2.x and Polymer. However it seems their newer projects use Polymer, Youtube, Google Allo, Google Music. CodeLabs and others seem to go Polymer route.

Hm, DBmon benchmarks show that Polymer 1.x with polyfills is a lot faster than Angular 1.x which has thousands of production sites and was acceptable not that long ago. So I'm not sure that non-polyfill execution will really fix the pe

The way it will be handled from 6.x forward is better - the problem is, this will be tricky to migrate from older versions.

Thing is the parent/child functionality required using multiple types in single index. So migrating from that is painful.

Yes, I believe solr is better than the time I used it 4 years ago, partial json api support, but I don't think it has the analytics aggregations that ES gives us.

The problem with this approach is often that the dump restore takes a week to complete.

You mean like auto-generated admin panel? I would look for something directly related with sqlalchemy - not pyramid. I don't use such panels so I can't give good advice here.

Cconsider also looking at Pyramid Web Framework. Provides nicer defaults and does not rely on threadlocals and globals. By defualt you will also get sqlalchemy and jinja2 templating out-of-the-box. It also handles building REST apps nicely.

You can go Polymer 2.x or Vue 2.x both feel similar to angular 1.5 `component()` approach. React might be a nice option too but it is probably requires more different way of thinking than the former options.

To clarify the custom element registration is part of standard made by browser vendors - it is not something specific to polymer WebComponents. Specification allows you to register only one version of element.

So they have a solution that works for everyone and you are complaining its not just made for $INSERTYOURFRAMEWORK. Interesting point of view.

They have the patent: https://www.google.com/patents/US20170221242 . Just MIT is a good option, I don't really understand why they don't want to "fix" the patent grant to be like Apache 2.0 or Google

You can use vdom, lit-html or hyperhtml to force that (so yes everyone will use their favourite tool I guess, and that is a good thing). But individial components can be shared and reused.
