I worked for a place that recruited people to test stuff like toothpaste, mouthwash, and other personal care products way back in mid 00s. We worked with a lot of big-name companies, and one of them was trying to get approval for a very sim

You're not alone. I didn't even bother trying BG3 because of the turn-based combat. I'm sorry, but in my opinion turn-based combat has no place in a AAA game, aside from maybe a mini-game. It's just lame.

Weird Al doesn't do covers, aside from a few exceptions. He does parodies. Parody falls under fair use, so legally I don't think he has to pay royalties, though he may anyway.

I don't really disagree with anything you said, but I would suggest that this kind of thinking is largely at the root of a lot of society's problems. Big corporations have become almost as powerful as governments in many respects.

In a perfectly competitive market, yes, profits go to zero. https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/031815/why-are-ther... But there's no such thing as a perfectly competitive market.

If you read the article, it's pretty clear that this abhorrent behavior is coming from management, with the union pushing back. I'd guess it will be an issue during the next contract negotiations.
