That link is about "window managers" which are different from "desktop environments". I agree though that Unity (in particular but not limited to) tries very hard to reinvent the wheel every 2 years.

I think in some countries companies/websites have to keep a trace of all accounts. So they don't really delete accounts, pretend they do and move them to another DB.
