A good start. I hope the investigation keeps going and exposes more of the comedic web of fraud that fuels the crypto ecosystem.

Phoenix really is a joy to use, been using it in production for almost half a decade now. Elixir can have a somewhat steep learning curve, especially for junior devs, but the other side of it is a wonderful place to code.

Matt Levine called this the "Bored Markets Hypothesis" at the time. Seemed pretty obvious both then and now in hindsight.

Hopefully it means more people sober up about the shell game that is crypto, and we get some common sense regulation to stop the proliferation of get rich quick schemes and outright scams.

This one is a little less arbitrary. The community put a lot of stock in the fact that while volatile, bitcoin had never crashed below a major previous peak. As of this morning, that’s no longer true. Still “just” psychology, sure, but the

Tons of law firms did this in 08 and 09. Those with the ability to choose often chose other firms when hiring got back on track later.

Thrilled to see organized action on this front. For too long, the only voices in the room were there for hype. It's easy for those with critical views to just ignore it.

They can always do that, by just issuing more shares. In fact, if you buy X shares, the percentage of the company you own could well decline over time. Or increase, in the case of stock buybacks.

IMO, Matt Levine is mostly writing with his tongue firmly in his cheek when he suggests stock splits and meme stock antics are Rational Things Boards Should Do For Value. Excellent source for financial news though, I agree!

I feel the same way. A speaker at a conference recently referred to "Web3" as "controversial, but not going anywhere." I not only believe that's false, I'd like to actively contribute to falsifying it.
