I surely write off a country that forces men to pay child support for ex-stepchildren.

From my desk, that's exactly how it looks. It may be the case that remote jobs are a biased sample.

Quite a challenge you chose for yourself, I respect that! There are very, very few passable email clients in this world: Thunderbird, Mail.app (macOS and iOS) and GMail Web client.

Yes, sorry by not being clearer from the beginning. I guess the bulk of the 'app' market will move towards PWA, which is a good thing.

When I look at remote jobs, almost everything is React/Angular, and my expertise is currently more at mobile.

My situation is opposite: I know many things but React/Vue/Angular. It is interesting how the remote job market turned away fast from mobile development. I have elected to learn React and Vue, hoping to bet on the right horses :)

I would love to have the chance of doing some work for a company being paid a low rate or nothing at all to prove myself. That's how I incidentally got my best jobs. In the last interview the RH recruiter labeled me "arrogant"

It is a typical case of 1st world people thinking they know what 3rd world people need/want. Like the mythical $25 phone that nobody nowhere actually wants.

Quite a technique to get rid of a project you don't want to be maintainer anymore.

I consider myself Christian but I quit church because it was a snake pit, and I don't believe in hell at all. I think that churches didn't keep up with the times. These days, a priest should discuss the implications of many-worlds

I had a boss that used to scold me in front of others to show that he was tough and impartial. It took two or three times to see the pattern (he expected me to see by myself). Too good I didn't overreact...

In Portuguese version of SO, most of the questions are very basic programming and smell as course homework that the student is asking SO to answer. Whoever does this kind of question is not simply naive: he is lazy and gives the profession

One thing that C should have is an automatic string type (more like a byte[] than a String) that knows its own size. A huge amount of programming bugs arise from the lack of strings, and I can't see the reason why they could not be sup

It is subjective - they feel smoother, glass-like. One factor is most cheap Chinese nibs are not cut exactly at the middle. This can be seen with a 10x+ loupe. The metal is not as hard. Different metal types have different surface tension s

Diamine Registrar Ink is another option. It writes blue then it fades to gray. Some Noodler's (US) inks are resistant to a wide range of solvents as well.

Put a JoWo #6 nib on it ($15) and it will write like a $150 pen.

One friend got beaten up by Yakuza because he banged up a Russian prostitute that 'belonged' to them. No guns, just golf club beatings, and of course they didn't get carried away (no broken bones, just bruises).

I uninstalled FB from my phone because it cut the battery life in one third, even if not used at all. One can imagine how busy it was behind the curtain to need all these joules...

I tend to think all the time in a coding problem, even while eating, going to loo, sometimes even in dreams. There is no bigger problem solver than a walk off the cold white screen. So productivity cannot be really measured in keyboard time

Exactly my case: I walked to and from school every day, and kept playing on street and backyards' bushes every afternoon. My kid I drive to and from school, he never went to the street unattended, he is 10.
