Can they 360-no-scope their way to a reliable timetable for their trains? 2/3 times I've had to use them, my trip was severely affected by a delay or a cancellation.

CSRF protects the user by not allowing random pages on the web using resources from a target website, without the user being aware of this. It only makes sense when serving people using browsers. It is not a defense against curl or skiddies

Aside from bringing in the groundbreaking feature, Rust doesn't bring in any groundbreaking changes. It could be argued that bringing in lesser known features to more people is a good thing in it's own right.

Microsoft will learn nothing they didn’t know before. They’ve operated like this before, and their bottom line will not suffer.

I do not believe it is reasonable to use an OS where you need to do hostage negotiation on a daily basis. If you need to go this far, what will you do when an MS update adds a bypass for the firewall you’re using?

You don't need to design around it - it is not like you can use top power for 100% of the time in most EVs anyway, and there's no good reason to restrict it such that the vehicle can operate at a limited max power for longer. ICE
