Don't know about others, but Linode and Hetzner have parts of their IP space on spamming blacklists. As does Digital Ocean. So it's a lottery, basically.

Not sure I follow. How is this a sponsor's headache? It's entirely up to the sponsored devs to allocate received funds as they prefer.

I don't think the dissatisfied tone is justified here. If you are being paid to make a free product, it's actually quite reasonable for the developers of tools you use to be paid too. I see absolutely no issues, ethical or otherwi

Hyperion trilogy is extremely good. Neuromancer is a must read, a true masterpiece. Tales of Pilot Pirx is another type of sci-fi, also very enjoyable.

Snow Crash is his best book. Imaginative and punchy as fuck. Cryptonomicon is very good too. Should be a must read for people who want to make another Tor :) Incomparison, Reamde is slow and boring.

If you feel like throwing "newbie" accusations around, it'd be prudent to back your list of grievances up with more than a single link to crypto.cpp. Chances are you misread the code, didn't grok what the op was doing, e

There is a plenty of solutions like this already. The earliest I am aware of was a specialized mini "cart" studded with video cameras that one would roll around the place and will get a textured 3D model that can then be walked ar

Excellent idea, massive privacy concerns. I basically have no way of ensuring that your plugin won't leak my browsing history to you, intentionally or not. There needs to be a completely offline version of it and that will be a kille

Don't forget they also force-convert payout wires to your native currency if you aren't in the US. Even if you operate mostly in USD, have USD accounts, etc.

An urban legend goes that at least two Soviet Mars probes missed the planet because of a typo in the nav program. The code was in Fortran and one of the commas was mistyped as a dot (or vice verse).

Same director. Apparently Valerian is based on a French comic and it doesn't diverge too far from it. Hence the quirkiness.

Reads like a snake oil blurb to be honest. No comparision against any modern compressors, eg lz4, no specs, no pricing. Just "trust us, it's awesome." Looks really strange.

Compression speed is around 2 KB/sec. The figure is given in nncp_v2.1.pdf. This is 1000x slower than xz, which in turn is 1000x slower than gzip. I have always wondered if a compression service could be a viable commercial offering
