I can confirm that holding the remote next to the head doesn't work, but touching chin, temple or the back of the head does extend the range. This works not just with car remotes, but also with garage door openers.

> You can see the same effect by holding the car remote to a water bottle. And this ^ doesn't actually work. I know it because I specifically tested it. Went from 2L bottles and all the way to 8L jug. Nada. But the head works.

That's a pretty dumb explanation if you pardon the bluntness. The effects shows itself regardless of how the head is turned reltive to the target.

Woah. The pulse control is more or less I can understand, but the body temperature control part is just unbelievable.

It would've helped greatly if the post bothered to mention the language.

Yeah, I realize that, but they are almost identical for something that's not a series.

What's with the book cover design being almost the same as [1]? [1] https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/1839217715/

The "Enter" button of the splash page is under the cut when my iPad is in landscape mode. The page is also not scrollable, so the whole page makes no sense. Had to turn the iPad 90 degrees for the button to appear and to be able t

No, imo that won't be okay. Competition is not in a picture if one can't even finish a round :) Perhaps you can have competitive and casual modes? One with the score and no undo, another without and with respectively.

Beautifully designed, very clean, but frustrating to play due to being unpleasantly difficult. I gave up after 5 minutes. It would help to have an unlimited undo in a dedicated button. I realize that the undo can be done by spinning words i

You may want to show a popup message explaining that first time it refuses to spin. I tried playing, it kept blinking red, so I just gave up. If it weren't for the above comment, I would've never realized what was happening.

Disney yanked them after acquiring LucasArts. I was so pissed when I went to re-download them and they disappeared even from my Purchased list. Complained to Apple and they basically said "shouda made backups, good bye and fuck off&q

Great idea, but I find gameplay to be a bit too tedious to be enjoyable. In this aspect Wordle got it right with the color cues, but here I don't think it's even possible to simplify the gameplay that way.

Slack was an internal side project for something else they were working on, so they too weren't thinking much of it at first.

Unclogged a toilet once by lifting the seat, wrapping its bowl in kitchen plastic wrap and then using the resulting "membrane" to pump enclosed air volume down the drain. To my complete astonishment it worked on a second try!

This doesn't really qualify as "stupid" though. That's just the good old "interfacing with legacy systems" routine. :)

Yeah, I know and that's how I've been using it for the past decade, but it's not that simple. The language keeps changing and this forces adding cruft to the code if one wants to use newer compilers. For example, there are ca

Aye, same here. I don't mond C++ evolving into some thing of its own beyond all recognition, but there is a distinct lack of modern "C with Classes" language. Basically, C on steroids. There are attempts at that, but none is
