Additionally, why would any ISP throttle a site with as little traffic as HN? Edit: I say "little" in comparison to the seriously high traffic sites like Netflix or Google.

Hadn't thought about rural physicians, very good point. I come from a relatively rural community, but with a large hospital and specialist presence, so it kind of slipped my mind that there are even smaller communities that would benef

From a provider standpoint, however: If they are not technically adept at operating an ultrasound machine, and do not have the knowledge necessary to read an ultrasound, why spend $2,000? And on that note, is this device able to be billed f

So maybe this is naive, but CVS has a walk in clinic in nearly every city, and is seemingly socially conscious enough to better the health of its patrons (see getting rid of cigarettes). Would they be able to do something with an insurance

I believe that discs do survive longer. I remember reading some article describing the decay of data over time. As long as the discs aren't horribly scratched up they will retain data for a very long time without decay.

You are correct. However, this paper specifically only looks at H-RAS, also a proto-oncogene.

Do you have evidence to support that circadian biology is controlled by light? I was under the impression that light was only one part of this puzzle.

Since the 15" MBP charger can deliver up to 87W, if you have full power draw on the MBP will you actually not be able to fully supply power over AC? I assume that the CPU also takes up around 20-30W.

I guess I just don't see how this title can be practically misleading, unless you're intentionally primed to think that "best" means "significant gains". Further, let's look at some of Mark Walton's o

The title? "The best gaming CPU you can buy". Not sure how that indicates "serious" gains, but you keep on telling yourself that Intel influenced them into use that title.

Note that the article also talks about how to detect standards image manipulation as well. This could be useful for me when reading academic papers and questioning the visual representation of results.

What if you're buying a new device that's already been updated to the latest version? It can be hard to downgrade, especially with Apple devices.

Aren't these font sizes modifiable in Accessibility? I've turned on things like contrast and reduced transparency just to make it easier to read, and I'm very young.

But why the focus on the jacquard threads? If it is just the cuff, why can't we just wear a bracelet or something similar? When I first say them introduce this, I thought there would be more tech built into the jacket itself, but it lo

The study looked at SHIV, so they did it in monkeys. A little different. I haven't looked at most of the study but I would imagine that as an antibody it would have some sort of specificity.
