Get a lawyer, now. Starting an income producing side gig as a founder, whether you feel like one or not, is problematic, especially if you signed the seemingly standard “everything I create is owned by the company” sort of employment agreem

The oldest extant site I had anything to do with appears to be https://park.org/ . My bit was the IBM Chess Challenge that seems to have evaporated. But you can see one problem with keeping a site up for 26 years. park.org

No. If “without any kind of maintenance” is the test, then no. At a minimum you need to sign a contract with an organization and pre–pay for the term you expect them to maintain the site. And you probably need a third party to monitor that

Much of IBM’s internal informal history was lost in the transition from the RSCS based TOOLSRUN forums to a mix of Lotus Notes/Domino/web forums around 1999–2000 (note that this was a business choice, all internal fora were alread

The same advertising apocalypse that wiped out the early dot coms took out most of the media covering technology (Internet World, Red Herring, etc). Fast Company and Wired went from 100+ pages to really, really thin magazines from 2000 to 2

I have all but two of my cell phones dating back to 1995. Unfortunately I didn't keep the chargers for many of them so while they should be functional I can't really confirm that. Also have a Mac SE from 1990. Booted the last tim

Honestly, kind of enjoyed that. So many stories of that day have been left out of the historical record because they don’t fit the narrative of heroic deeds in the face of terror (writing only from an NYC perspective).
