How have you spread the word about your site?

I have paid for dating sites and not had any better luck than with okcupid or pof. I hate pof because it's so F'ing ugly, but it's also bigger than okcupid. The main thing I have found on eharmony vs okcupid are the women I am 'matched wit

There is not a way to tell when someone has last used the site with eharmony. At least not immediately. I live in Vermont and there were like ~50 women within 60 miles within 5 years of my age on either side that showed up as 'matches' for

I recently signed up for eharmony. I was under the impression my 'message' to someone was an invite for them to talk back without paying. That actually makes me feel slightly better. I have much, much higher success rates (and a much lowe

I can certainly attest to shit code getting through non-tech bosses. It's not just a matter of 'getting away with something' either. A badly managed programmer won't know the larger scope of what they are doing, or even worse be doing som

Going synthetic in an older vehicle isn't always good. a small leak into the piston woudln't be a problem with regular oil, but with synthetics you have an issue.

I have been using fugitive.vim for integration with git, I don't know about svn or cvs as I don't use them. The thing is vim needs to be (but can be!) tailored to your needs.

I should have said, get a lawyer and threaten loudly to sue for damages.

To be fair, oil changes are basically the best deal you can buy from a 'mechanic'. Besides, he may be commuting 25 miles to and from work in a 98 civic, in which case that would be a fine schedule.

I agree with the take away, don't get superior. However, the relevancy of being an expert in emerging technology isn't really captured by your metaphor. Also it's definitely not that you're smarter , rather you are just familiar with the

hrm, I don't think that's true that there is nothing to be learned from our intuition on this. 10^-y could be anywhere from 0 to 1, but you have to be extremely close to 0 for y to be bigger than x. Since we are here pondering this, it mak

Look, it's not offensive but I do think what you're saying is naive. Lets take a step back into the 1500s and talk about what an advanced culture able to move thousands of tons of goods from one side of the country to the otherside in a mat

Hire a good designer, that's the main thing. If you don't actually need good design, but just want something to not look god awful, the basic idea is to use colors that complement each other. I like to use http://colorschemedesigner.com/

Where exactly would we be seeing all this stuff? I mean, how closely can we even look on planets in our galaxy? We are still discovering trillions of new galaxies here and there. Our reach is virtually zero in the context of the universe.

by eof 16y ago
Sorry, 'far from zero' is really meaningless and I shouldn't have said it that way. I don't actually mean to make a positive statement about the existence of complex life elsewhere in the universe, though intuitively I think it's absurd to
