Using !important is bad practice. If you're loading a child stylesheet properly, you should be able to overwrite the styles without having to use !important. You just have to make sure the selectors match up properly.

How would you feel if you paid for the course, but their current farm wasn't working because of all the new signups, or people trying to do the same course? They want to build a big farm to begin with to handle the load.

It's not a version control system for Dropbox -- but you could also use LayerVault ( http://layervault.com/ ) to keep a nice backup of your files incase Dropbox does fail.

Learning everything about git is hard, but learning enough git to use personally isn't that hard. I use git personally to keep backups of my code and deploy sites I work on. I dont' work with other developers so my knowledge of git is worka

Doesn't seem like you're looking too hard -- you know, still having a facebook account and all. If you hate it that much, delete the account :P

I think you're looking at this a bit too seriously. I mean, they're at WWDC, they want to promote their site so they add it to HN. Either people complain that there is no video, or they complain that there are no screenshots. Do people real

I agree with you. "someone took a risk and put themselves out there for judgement" People don't build things to never see the light of day. People build things that they hope other people will use. Bringing it to HN is basically a huge show

Any developer worth his weight should be able to adapt to any framework written in the language he knows. If you know PHP/Ruby/Python/etc, you should be able to pickup a new framework within a day or two.

I just switched from a MB to a MBA. My older macbook was starting to show it's age and I really wanted to switch to a SSD. My MB was already a 13", so the size wasn't an issue. I ended up picking up a refurb for $1,099.
