I'm genuinely surprised a similar alternative has never popped up. Every time Pebble comes up, there are so many people posting about how much they loved it and how they still keep theirs alive or how they had had to relucantly give

I've wondered the same, with the same lead into the industry. I don't think it's possible to extract the two from one-another. I've nerded-out on the majority of the projects I've worked on through my career - espe

I have a November birthday and started school at four during the last year the "at-least five by September cut-off" was implemented. I generally felt like everyone was way ahead of me for most of my school years. I was never dia

What I really want is an advanced caller id system that encompasses the whole process, in which the "caller" or "sender" never actually has my phone number (or email or mailing address). I can generate contact-ids on the

One hundred percent. I remember the original react docs were great for teaching the vocabulary, but then it seemed we had to figure out sentences and paragraphs on our own. To be fair, I started that journey during (or soon after?) the bet

Coming around to my mid 40s and I can say the same with the same approximate reasons. I used to throw events with tens to hundreds of people as a teenager and I could remember the names of every guest including anecdotes about them. Even w

I have similar thoughts in regards to the creative outputs of our various cultures and how we'll deal with that - as creatives, as fans, as critics, etc. When I was young, it seemed impossible to me to think that someone could know ALL

My favorite part about being a generalist is that I get to work with incredibly talented specialists and we tend to complement each other very well. In some ways I find that I _do_ specialize - just not along a specific field. I tend to sp

What annoys me about otel is that it seems to require direct live connections. I'd much rather just add the tracking keys / spans / whatever to my logs and parse them out of there later, but no standard lib / app /

We - as in parents - literally can't get them. They are intentionally releasing the vaccine for under 5s significantly slower. The comparison doesn't make sense. This has nothing to do with demand.

Your % for kids under 5 isn't indicative of much. We signed up for a vaccine for my almost-3yo the day they were released and we're scheduled for next week. I know lots of parents who are also scheduled and most are after us. Ju

I so wish I could get XLT swag. It's impossible to find tall sizes in free nerd gear and that makes me sad. `n`XL is for width. I need length, and without it, it's a belly shirt within two washes. My wife loves it though as she
