I don’t think people expressing their identity markers online is going to stop happening anytime soon. Gender is a pretty fundamental part of most people’s identity.

I have a couple of friends who have made incredible progress dealing with severe trauma through MDMA therapy. Mental health research and treatment needs more funding across the board. There is so much potential for healing that is being squ

I think the problem in this case was that the entire file was the script that ran top to bottom. It’s not so much that the file was big, but that the function was huge and impossible to reason about. I agree that obsessing over file length

I have reviewed some of the crypto code in the Go standard library that this is built with, and there is use of constant time primitives in there so it is at least possible and some attention has been spent on it.

Yeah, it’s the real world tasks that GeekBench tries to simulate that don’t tend to scale linearity with processor count. A lot of software does not take good advantage of multiple cores.

Racism is not just perceiving one race as superior to another. It is about prejudice, which stereotypes promulgate.

O’Rourke has written hundreds of thousands of words that promote racist ideas. Of course people will always debate whether making racist jokes make one a racist, but the sheer volume of his work is surely evidence of a kind.

Lol how is “ha ha Chinese eat dogs” not racist. It’s playing on the racist stereotype that asian people eat dogs. (It is true that in some parts of Asia they eat dogs but not in China.)

That’s not really how software patents are (ab)used. Just having the patent and a vaguely credible claim that someone is using the patented technology is enough to encumber them with enough legal issues that many people will settle instead
