according to the guy running the exchange: user with 500k bitcoins was hacked (probably password bruteforce or csrf). they'll probably reverse all transactions since then

ah - so what you are doing speeds up deploys to multiple servers, while what i'm doing is meant to speed up an individual deploy. i mostly just got tired of waiting for an individual deploy to my staging server. btw thanks for emailing me!

http://payscale.com/ and http://glassdoor.com/ suggest that the median is lower, not higher. But that's not even the point. With $110k you'll live more than great here, and if you're good you can always find new opportunities or a raise
