If you write all your own apps, nothing.

So you have no private data and don't believe others should either, good for you.

Yes, privacy decisions should be made by third parties and end users can take it or leave it. My point was that the assertion that this OS is somehow superior to android or iOS in terms of freedom or privacy is completely unfounded.

Presumably the code for those apps is also cached on the device so you don't have to be connected in order to run them. My point was not to attack Firefox OS, but to point out that these home screen apps are indistinguishable from &quo

Right - just google for a different app every time you want to get something done. Also, storing all your data on someone else's server is obviously the best thing yet for privacy and freedom.

And here you are, pretending not to have been proven wrong about Samsung's profit share, elsewhere in the same thread. The linked article is not claiming apple is morally superior. It is claiming that Apple is strategically different,

You can't expect anyone to take this seriously. The hiptop was nothing like the iPhone. And in 2007 before the iPhone was released Android looked like a blackberry clone: http://blog.steventroughtonsmith.com/2012/0

Only if you ignore the gigantic set of APIs that Apple also controls through which those binary apps get the vast majority of their work done.

Yeah - I'd like to see anyone name any improvements to iOS that have been made over the past 3 years. It hasn't changed at all.

The linked article is pretty Gruberish. If you don't like analysis of an opinion piece, perhaps this was the wrong comment section to read.

That chart puts Apple's profit share at above 60%. So you are flat out wrong. The AMP is an average of several metrics including units shipped, both smart and non-smart, and revenue where we know Samsung surpasses apple.

It's still clearly a totally false comparison, combining Samsung's other businesses with their Android businesses and comparing that with just the iPhone.

Samsung profit share has nowhere near caught up with Apple. http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/07/27/samsung-has-not-de... Looks like you've been taken in by misinformation.

It sounds as if wikileaks has evidence. If they do, they should show it, although I guess it makes sense for them to set the context first so it isn't so easily ignored. There seem to be a lot of people here determined to argue that g

This has nothing to do with preferences. The world is full of rich groups and governments that got there thorough favors and exercise of power if not violence.

The government fuels positive sentiment around pretty much all of its policies. It doesn't go round saying 'our policies suck' because that would provide an opening to opposition.
