Conversely, T5 is 65 years old and just adapting to a completely new way of communicating at retirement age. Comparing that to the neuroplasticity of a far younger subject, I can see a high chance of this outperforming mobile typing. 10 fin

A great one, thanks for sharing. What‘s not to like about that approach? And if you think I‘m sarcastic, we might have a different belief system underneath: For me the irreplaceability of an engineer is not measured in the creation of compl

Having two servers with an unpatched CVE 10/10 vuln will get both pwned in short to no time. Or just one, exposing your data in a ransom attack. Dependency and update management is hard. Welcome to IT. From my experience, extreme viewp

Touché, and thanks for sharing that perspective. I chose the entrepreneurial path to societal impact for myself, but you reminded me about that a lot of the basic research we‘re all depending on was done by doctorands and researchers. And j

Depends on your definition of „better“. Since decisions are always emotionally made and rationalized after the fact, this approach will fall victim to significant amounts of survivorship and post-purchase bias. Life doesn’t have an A/B

I‘m wondering what‘s your motivation behind that… Do you just like the sensation of studying so much? I‘d probably feel empty myself just accumulating knowledge all my life and not applying it to any high impact problem worth solving.

It's more complicated than that, as you want to transfer the learning to new pieces. In the end, it's really close to machine learning, as you want to create a rather complex loss function. Just as an example, one of the first thi

I dunno. Like, yeah, I get it. There‘s quite a few sounds that trigger emotional reactions in me. The whirring and buzzing of the PSU. The Award BIOS beep. The seeking sound of an empty 3.5 inch disk drive. The slight CRT zang between diffe
