Hmm, I could have been clearer...I can write a basic email, but when I have to write a long, detailed, technical email (i.e. here's what you proposed, here's how to make it work, here's the cost, here are the three problems we'd need to sol

This seems like a kind of platitude; it hearkens back to writing 101 but it doesn't actually solve my problem at all.

Interesting. I think I get stung by this as well - I've been struggling to understand why my clear, detailed, fluff-free emails aren't effective. The naive solution seems to be to pad your emails with bullshit, but I think this would ofte

>No it doesn't. You can talk about upper bounds on average case running time. Hmm. At first read I agreed with this, but now I don't again. A bound is a theoretical limit. If certain inputs to a function cause it to exceed your "boun

I hate to say it, but knowing anon's sense of humor, the fact that this guy is black raises my estimated post prob that the profile is fake (or an innocent bystander). And my prior for that was already high.

I agree that "lack of culture" is not a good reason to criticize Dubai, but I think the fact that foreigners are damn near kidnapped and treated as slave labor in order to build skyscrapers is certainly worthy of criticism.

A correct implementation of A* might look simple, and indeed it's not the most complicated algorithm out there, but I wouldn't dismiss it until you've read and understand the proof of its optimality.

You do have a strategy. Now that you have acknowledged the concept, you can't not have one. Your strategy in this case is (explicitly) not to engage in conscious strategizing and (implicitly) to ignore social norms which don't match you
