I downvoted you, because your entire comment is predicated on the fallacy of generalization from fictional evidence, and what I'll call "argument by pithiness".

I think "creative use of game mechanics" is a large part of what makes e-sports popular. Boxer (the Michael Jordan, or perhaps Babe Ruth, of pro-gaming) wasn't popular so much for his mediocre mechanics or even his good micro, but primarily

They have 4000 employees. If they cost (salary + benefits + taxes + etc.) $100k a year each, on average, then that'd be $400m.

Since you're interested, here's the video (recorded by a SC1 pro) that catalyzed the SC1 behavior being recreated in the SC2 expansion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Rqx8s2qKXM

When I used Unity at work, it would literally freeze every few days, and I'd have to ssh in from another machine and restart it. Tried Gnome 3 for a while but eventually gave up and went with Cinnamon.

You are the one submitting anecdotes (as well as exhibiting availability bias), not the parent. It's not anecdotal to claim that younger people have higher risk tolerance...they are less likely to have kids, mortgages, etc.

>An apartment in a condo in NYC will be about $100k+ per year in fees and taxes. [citation needed] Property tax in NYC is pretty low; this $3.35m condo in Tribeca is just over $20k/year in taxes and maintenance: http://streeteasy.com

Google and Microsoft don't ask those kinds of questions. Both of them primarily ask questions related to algorithms and data structures, sometimes with a bit of software design thrown in. Source: I work for Google and have interned for Mi

Google has plenty of builders. AI is an insight problem. (I probably should have said "design" rather than "build" in my previous comment.) That said, I did nearly including Ben Goertzel in my comment. But I am familiar with Eliezer and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_authority is still a fallacy, even if you said it a while ago. If Google wanted to build AGI, we'd hire Eliezer Yudkowsky and Luke Muehlhauser. Kurzweil is an evangelist and a public figure, but
