When I was at amazon I interacted with twitch teams several times for projects and they legitimately didn't seem to understand that twitch and adult streaming sites are pretty much the exact same setup with different branding so being

the only 'rodizio' I've seen in the US tend to be on the higher end, while most all you can eat pizza places tend to be on the lower end and just self serve.

it sounds like it was an all you can eat place, the few one I go to has signs up saying if you don't eat what you take you may be charged an extra plate (I've never seen them actually enforce it, I assume it's more for people

I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo actively supported it, it let them say "see even Konami doesn't get special treatment and can only release 5 games/year" while also getting more high quality games from Konami.

also you commonly get a digital license too that you can register with those same digital services when you buy physical anyways (at least for movies/tv shows).

The problem I run into with family is if you collect it all together and call it trickle-down economics it's "obviously that won't work", but then they turn around and basically just keep repeating all the parts separate

I think people blamed the frame rate, but for me it was the rest of the effects that put me off, faces were too softened, lots of scenes had weird color saturation, as others mentioned there was a lot of motion blur, compared to LOTR the VF

If you went out on the street and asked random people to name CEOs of nestle or shell I'd guess you'd have a super majority who don't know. There's a reason most CEOs stay quiet, when you become the face of a company you

I def could see doing that but don't think I've ever seen a system with multiple toslink for additional channels like I've seen done for XLR.

Compared to pretty much any other output you'd have on an av receiver 15/20ish years ago (so hdmi, XLR, or some other standard analogue like rca or speaker wire). Possibly similar to the compression level of blutooth, don't h

okay, looking closer at the wiki (it's been forever since I actually tried it), for stereo it's full bandwidth, it's when it's surround sound it's super compressed.

No one's saying it didn't transmit the data bit perfect, but it re-encoded the media at a relatively low bitrate with a decently crappy codec which is where the crappy audio came from. EDIT: Looking closer at the wiki (it's b

The codec they transmitted over the wire (regardless of the wire media) was crappy, not the wire itself, but in this case those imply the same thing as as far as I'm aware there was only the one format that it'd transmit over that

S/PDIF is also crappy in comparison to analogue audio of the time. EDIT: Looking closer at the wiki (it's been forever since I saw it used), it's when it's being used for surround sound that it compresses it super poorly

I need to just watch a lets play at some point > the ending of Alyx does retcon the old cliffhanger. that's semi-disappointing, if for no other reason than that they'd do it in a game so few have the ability to actually play.

Alyx was really good (though I'm a wuss and couldn't finish it) but not a continuation of the cliffhanger that we've been sitting on for 16 years since episode 2.

There's a similar issue with water usage, lots of locales have been so successful in lowering water usage in their communities that previous usage based fees don't cover the minimum operating cost of the utilities.
