It's because the author put effort into it. Most (online) humour is lazy, low effort, regurgitated meme spam. See: Reddit. It should be downvoted and ideally never posted at all. This is also the reason why I consider the lack of image

I too love that style, but it won't work today, because many apps today are Electron slop that disregards user preference and styles itself.

Go easy on the guy. Mac users are so used to overpaying for trivial functionality.

What is allowed and what actually happens are two very different things, my friend. In the neighbourhood I live, there's a guy who visits someone here several times per week. His headlights are broken, the tires are worn smooth, the ex

Of course, if you move the goalposts far enough you can say any result is a success. Mastodon looks to have around 800k active users. For comparison IRC has (according to netsplit.de) around 280k users. Is that successful?

Worth noting: A Pi 1 will decode 1080p h264 video flawlessly. I used one as a media center for a long time, running OpenELEC (now LibreELEC). Moving around the UI was a bit sluggish, but video playback was smooth. YouTube is an absolute clo

This seems like a lot of effort and expense to avoid either figuring out the current ethernet cable layout, or pulling new cable. It's not that hard.

My statement implied no such thing - merely an opinion that all media is trash and unworthy of trust. For the most part. Same can be said for politicians. For the most part.

Ironically, as I scrolled a few pages down that site, the content was blocked by a popup and I closed the tab. The internet is over. Pack it up.

You don't use an IM service, because a subset of its users are "wackos"? I've used Telegram for many years now, and aside from the occasional "hot singles in your area" type spam, I've never been bothered
