Okay, so AV1 has lower bitrate. I can encode any video format at arbitrary bitrates, but that metric is not useful on its own. An article about how AV1 requires less bits for the same or improved perceptual quality would have been far mor

Had a "people" guy at a previous employer. At every corporate social thing, he'd run around with his huge DSLR camera and take pictures to post on the company social media, to show how this is a great place to work. He was an

TFA says "port scanning attacks", but in my opinion it's not. It's barely jiggling the door knob. Securing SSH isn't hard to do properly, and port scans or connection attempts isn't something anyone needs to be

[Trigger warning: Old man yells at cloud.] One of countless reasons I hate doing anything on my phone. Text selection is imprecise, slow and janky. Text input is slow and error prone, and autocorrect (or predictive text) produces danish wit

Alt+F4 is bound to "close window" by default, so I don't know why that didn't work for you. Something I really enjoy with KDE is I can reconfigure practically all keyboard shortcuts. I use meta+(numpad+/-) to change

Define Windows-like. Windows 11 is complete insanity and nearly unusable. Windows 2000/XP is more logical and boring (the good kind). In my opinion, yes KDE is "Windows-like", but based in an era before MS devs started self m

That particular CoC is a colossal red flag that the maintainers are utterly deranged. This might actually be the worst CoC I've ever seen. Any CoC is a red flag, but people often get pressured into it, so it's a sliding scale.
