AI startup idea: A plugin that scores HN posts on likelihood of bait. ChatGPT when prompted "Give [the post] a score from 1 to 10, where 1 is complete sincerity and 10 is low effort bait" thinks this is 7.

My biggest problem with Signal is their desktop app is awful. Telegram, for all its faults, has an excellent desktop app. I hate writing on a phone - anything longer than a few words I use my computer for.

Sure, but your post reads like an infomercial, hence the snark. NARRATOR: - "Has THIS ever happened to you?" CUT TO: Black-and-white. Some guy stares in frustration and confusion at a terminal. Output of 'cat /usr/b

Yea, it was far down my priority list. Only responding to emails was lower. At the end of my shift there'd usually be 40 to 60 unanswered calls if I was alone at the store. God that place was awful.

As someone who also used to work in a store, I'd just hang up. I barely had time to answer the phone most days, ain't got time for this bullshit.

I agree 100%. However, the upscaling is pretty good. You can tell it's not 4K, but it's also considerably better than simple bilinear resampling from 1080p.

England has been speedrunning the dystopian surveillance police state for a while now, through numerous governments. Voting is pointless. Same (but different) in Denmark where politicians vote to give themselves more money[1], snoop on ever

It's not totally comparable, but if you went against the approved covid narrative a few years ago, you would absolutely get shut down by the big players for "misinformation". Same with the 2020 US election results. And in man

Fedora looks interesting I admit, but having used Gentoo for ~20 years and Debian for ~10 [1], Fedora feels like a new pair of uncomfortable shoes. [1] And then one day you find / ten years have got behind you...
