The whole promise of UBI is that only those who like to work would do it, and people wouldn't do menial jobs because they could simply not do them - and thus the price must rise. Then, because the prices have risen, either UBI must be

> For that to happen in this environment, under far more scrutiny than the substance will ever again be under, is extremely troubling What? A therapist molested a drugged person and they blame the drug ? Wtf?

What do you mean? The US had practically nothing to do with that. The Ukrainian people wanted a regime change. That there might've been some contact really doesn't mean it's all the making of US in spite of Ukrainians. And th

It's "peace" at the expense of Ukraine, though.

IMHO the early Borg represented a fundamental difference The Federation: Freedom, independence, self-determination The Borg: Hegemonic for the sake of it, absolutely opposed to individuality Even beautiful Borgs would be horrendous, but dep

So what? It's scale that matters. Humans are absolutely incomparable to the natural effects you describe. We're brutal . One human is capable of transforming absolutely humungous areas of land in short amount of time. And there a

We have much better ways to make food than cows. If you're hungry you don't go raise cows. You go farming. Much less space needed for the same result, it's much quicker and with way less risk.

It replaces uncountable diversity of unique life with a cow . That's a huge loss that can't be recovered for millions of years - as we're quickly erasing entire species.

For a while, the Borg represented my idea of absolute horror - unstoppable, zero goals in common with us, they never negotiate because they're so different. They seriously nerfed them later though, so they kinda lost that vibe.

Sure. But it still seems interesting to see in what ways you must bend the rules to make it possible. Consider that the goal here is not really to produce working human-traversable wormholes, but rather to learn more about various models of

It's also good for learning. But I agree that most of today's basic OS dev learning should rather be done with UEFI and/or Virtio.

You can't sign your custom kernel, only Windows can be signed and signing has to be disabled for Linux and other OS. UEFI offers some basic IO functionality, it's like BIOS in that regard. You don't design your OS around it,

Demand your money back, only Windows can be signed, so the device is not up to spec if you can't disable it.

I'm more interested in integrating this into the software/ops of my customers at the moment. I just don't want to run a service right now, I like consulting more. I have a friend who has a data/ops cloud service. He'

PHP is the easiest to deploy, for sure - just buy a classic webhosting for $2/month. But I'd not optimize on deployment ease. I'd go with Node.js, TypeScript (or your preferred stack) and Dockerize it for development ease.

TypeScript, Node.js, React, React Native. Preferred tooling: Webpack, Webpack-dev-server, Prettier, ESLint, Jest. For super-fast compilation, use https://swc.rs .
