Google already provides a chatgpt-like experience with the questions it displays based on the query. It is unlike chatgpt in that google comes up with those questions but they are usually spot on and you can see the source where the answers

Every language that's been around long enough has issues. Python has its own of course, and the ones the OP listed are real. But none of them are show-stoppers or as big a deal as to stop coding in Python. Here is my take on what the O

I don't know if it's really a trend or not but makes sense if it is. It is too cold and too expensive up there. In my experience, people tend to stay because they have (elderly) family or fond memories of youth.

Doing is the best way to learn. The mind looks over gaps in understanding which are revealed when trying to build. I think DRH picked a self-imposed constraint that sqlite would not have any external dependencies. A lot of his decisions are

Or maybe you know he is simply a lot more excited about AI than VR now and that's it. No need to stick with something that doesn't excite you any more just because you were excited about it at one point and spent several years wor

Here is another use case for ChatGPT, with the caveat that it is decently good at coding. Make it go through your coding interviews (somehow not revealing that it's not a human) and see if it makes it through. If not, you have biased j

No matter how good anything is, it has to be resigned every year/major version/etc because it is far more "fashion" based whether we like it or not. And fashion is all about creating novelty by changing stuff not for uti

One big difference is there is no ads or seo, no one is trying to get in the way of you trying to learn something. Hopefully that will never happen.

These are all great points but Notion is not an AI company. They are most likely using gpt3 or equivalent in the backend to provide a (rather gimmicky) feature, that's it.

Markdown could potentially replace HTML as a more succinct markup language but it's not sufficient by itself because it has no way to represent styling and layout. You'd need to jam CSS into it somehow

I agree with everyone who commented "prepping is not sufficient, we need communities to survive long term, otherwise we just delay the inevitable" Watch "Falling Skies" if you don't agree. It's a good proxy.

For real content with real experiences from real people, well AI can't really create in the true sense of the word. It can only mix at the moment. That's what most people do too actually. So it can certainly replace most people. T
