Finally, the ultimate optimization of your note-taking experience: just get the computer to do it for you.

Wouldn't the ISP still know that you're connecting to Google, however?

I find it hard to believe Chromium pings any less than Firefox. Would love to get more info on this.

Does `@media` support negation? Could it be better to do something like this: @media (:not(prefers-reduced-motion)) { .animate-me { animation: pulse 400ms infinite; } }

If it works, it works. Just surprised by the infrastructure involved.

That's awesome. Personally I found that I end up spending too much time on configurations and tinkering with the notes, so I end up going for the simplest system I can.

Wow, CloudWatch for note metadata metrics. Notebook organization systems are serious business!

Is Obsidian Sync end to end encrypted?

I love Obsidian's editor - it hides markup when you're not editing but shows you when your cursor is over some text. The fact that you can just drag an image into a note is great and something terminal note apps will never be able

Now I'm curious what sort of argument could be made about not using the Framework laptop.

Strange - I have Wi-Fi Assist disabled, but I still observed the behavior I described, which is why I left the comment to begin with.

Nothing from a productivity standpoint, I just find the idea of Windows NT subsystems cool as hell.

Curious to see how well it integrates with language servers. And of course need Vim mode. IntelliJ's Vim mode works a lot better than VS Code's from my experience.

iOS devices are leaky as hell. I once tried blackholing all requests besides those to a VPN service on a router level, and even then my iPhone would just fall back to mobile data for notifications and other Apple services.

It'd be interesting if it weren't for the current tech industry that would bend over backwards to find a way to use it for advertising purposes.

Still a bit sad that Microsoft went the hypervisor way with WSL2, rather than the Windows Subsystem way in WSL1. It makes perfect sense that they did, but I'm still a bit sad.

I've been sneaking peeks at the SerenityOS documentation and style guide - it's great stuff. I think I'd rather see that expanded further.

Just need a MacWrite-grade app that can export to PDF and SerenityOffice can be sold in a nice big box with a pile of floppies.

You can't really do anything on WeChat either without connecting to other services - exactly what the web browser is bundled for.

We already have an everything app. We have at least 5, in fact: Microsoft Windows, macOS, Ubuntu Linux, iOS, Android.

I like lobste.rs because they have a lot more technical links than HN. Have not interacted with the community much though.

Now I want to see an entire desktop environment built with Wine instead of GTK or Qt.
