This is a fair take - ie, the authors are saying what their readers want to hear using some pseudo-statistics. In this sense, the authors are bullshitting their readers - by telling them what they want to hear (as any politician might)

chatGPT has no concern for the truthfulness of its output. Hence, it is a bullshitter by definition. Further, it remixes BS in infinite ways heaping it on the masses who are lapping it up (due to the innate bias to believe as true anything

This is a great question. and I have worked at multiple startups, and mega-corps. The only attribute I would look for is the engineering culture in the team or org you are joining. I found the best orgs to have a cultural tone set by engine

I am 53 and remain an individual contributor and code about 50% of my time. The rest of the time is spent in reviews, debugging problems, operations etc. Some thoughts. 1) you have to really enjoy crafting code, and building things. then,
