Integers becoming 32-bit or 64-bit depending on CPU architecture, bad character-set support, comparison and identity is wacky. If anything of that has changed since last time I looked, all the better :). He didn't insult you or slam you. He

The worst language I've ever written commercial web sites in is called OOiS-Script. You can't release memory, there is no such thing as an array, functions doesn't exist, there is no scope, when you handle XML you have to strip all namespac

In hindsight. The problem is often that we as programmers name things after what we use it for internally, or where we want to end up. Ie, we want an email conformation, but the customer that has to send it, so please do.

What about them? They were in a war and rightly more concerned about the lives of their own soldiers over those who wrongly attacked them, were fanatical in their defenses and were looking to drag the war on as long as possible for as favou

The only real amusement I get from trolling is when people discuss it afterwards and start trying to dissect it you get to meta-trolling, then meta on meta, trollers trolling each other, meta-trolling each other, etc. It's turtles all the w

To a certain degree you're correct. But it's not exactly the same. With colours you would get larger spans, whereas with numbers you get the immediate feedback. The difference in time is significant for addictive personalities. A second dif

I'd just rather have colour codes. Threshholds of 5, 10, 25, 45, 75+ or something along those lines. Points trigger a certain response among some people. The ones that get sucked into WoW for example simply because they have this impulse of

The Qu'ran is a bit different. It's one book, written by one man, in his lifetime, holds mostly direct commands and is written in stone since it's a direct copy of the Qu'ran in heaven that's written by Allah himself. It's meant to be taken

I think you can put Islam firmly in the state+religion basket. Shar'ia is the Qu'ran, the Hadiths and the Siras all neatly wrapped up for all muslims to live after. Lots of politics in there, very little actual religion. I do not believe yo

The effect iAds so far has had on me is to buy the Pro version just to get rid of the ads. Too invasive and they keep drawing my eyeballs to them and gets in the way of using the app. Probably not what Apple had in mind, but the developers

All true. I was thinking of the submitted link still. Manually sanitizing instead of having something doing that for you is a bad idea because you will forget.

Which means a) You're going to forget it at least once. b) For every developer mindful of this, there will be hundreds not knowing about it. If you ever put "you just need" into a sentence about security you've already lost.

I think it would be more accurate to say the market is regulated by laws. "laws are created by politicians" probably differs between countries. I wonder which is worse, politicians that don't really care about what they sign or politicians
